Intel i9 Processor Details Leaked
Posted on Nov 29, 09 05:35 AM PDT

It seems that some performance results of Intel’s new six-core Xeon were prematurely revealed by Polish site PCLab.pl, before being taken down at the request of Intel. Despite the take down, the information is still being passed around the Internet, and based on that, it seems that Intel’s new 6-core Xeon chips code-named “Gulftown” are nearly 50% faster and use up to 50% less power. That certainly sounds like a sweet deal, doesn’t it? According to sources online, the chip will be featured in future Mac Pro models which could arrive as soon as Q1 of 2010. These “Gulftown” chips will be branded with the i9 name, and will be Intel’s first six-core, dual-socket processor.
