Motorola Droid shifts 100,000 units
Posted on Nov 10, 09 07:00 AM PDT

Motorola's Droid has managed to shift more than 100,000 units over its first weekend, which is more or less half the available stock in teh market at the moment. With more and more smartphones being powered by the Android OS, Motorola hopes that renewed interest in the Google-powered segment will see the Droid move 1,000,000 units before the year is over, and ten times that amount by the end of 2010. Sounds impressive, but the iPhone 3GS managed to sell more than 1,000,000 phones in its first three days out in the open market.
