Nokia drops new budget phones

Nokia has its fair share of high end handsets as well as entry level models that are the true money spinners for the Finnish cellphone manufacturing company, and they have recently announced five more handsets for the Indonesia market in the form of the Nokia 1280, Nokia 1616, Nokia 1800, Nokia 2220 slide and Nokia 2690. Of course, they will also be made available worldwide in due time, and we suspect emerging markets would see these handsets perform best. The Nokia 1280, Nokia 1616 and Nokia 1800 will cost €20, €24 and €26, respectively, featuring basic functions such as an integrated FM radio, prepaid tracker, flash-light, anti-scratch covers and dust-resistant keypads. As for the more expensive Nokia 2220 slide and Nokia 2690 (€45 and €54, respectively), you can handle email on the go thanks to Nokia’s Ovi mail software.
