New Touchscreen Technology Coming Soon?

If you’ve been paying attention to touchscreen technology, you’ll know that there are resistive screens and capacitive screens, but have you heard of Interpolating Force-Sensitive Resistance (I.F.S.R) technology? It certainly sounds like something out of a Star Wars flick (though unfortunately it’s not). Scientists at the New York University Media Research Lab have formed Touchco and are working on I.F.S.R technology, which would allow them to create touchscreens that can be produced very cheaply, and being able to sell them at $10 per square foot. These thin and flexible touchscreens would also be multi-touch enabled, enabling them to receive simultaneous touch inputs. Could this be the display technology of eBook readers in the future?
