Motorola TN700 and TN500 announced

Motorola took advantage of CES 2010 by announcing two more GPS navigation devices - the TN700 and TN500, where they are touted to be connected, although their connectivity is pretty limited since you will need to hook them up to a Bluetooth-enabled cellphone if you want to transfer data to and fro. This technology is available courtesy of Airbiquity, where the Google Search capability will further enhance its internal POI database. The TN500 will come with a 4.3" widescreen display alongside lane guidance, junction views and spoken street names among others. As for the TN700, you will get a larger 5.1" cinematic display with other features found on the TN500 albeit with added functionality including real-time traffic information courtesy of an optional dash cradle. There was no announcement of pricing for either device from the CES showfloor, although we do know that it will hit the market sometime in the first quarter of 2010. With so many smartphones these days doing a great job as a GPS navigation device, we wonder just how much long do dedicated GPS systems have.
