Puyocon Offers Alternative Input Method

Bored of communicating with your computer via a keyboard and mouse? Well, if you want something more interesting, you’ll be hoping that the Puyocon, developed by the folks over at Japan’s Tsukuba University, becomes a mass market device. The Puyocon is a small, ball-shaped, soft and wireless controller that responds to a variety of moments, such as rolling, throwing, squeezing or moving. It features 14 pressure sensors, a 3 way acceleration sensor and Bluetooth. Thanks to its sensors, it can respond to the force it’s being squeezed with, or the amount of impact it receives from being thrown. While you probably won’t be using this at your next business meeting, it would be very suitable for children, especially those who are growing up, offering them an intuitive input method. Check outa video of it in actin.
