Seagate BlackArmor PS110 USB 3.0 portable hard drive

[CES 2010] Seagate introduces yet another peripheral for notebook owners with their blazing fast BlackArmor PS110 USB 3.0 portable hard drive performance kit which packs in a 500GB 7200RPM 2.5″ portable hard drive, its power cable and PC express card (for those who don’t have a USB 3.0 port in their laptop) in order to deliver up to triple the speed of its USB 2.0 predecessor. This automatically places it as one of the fastest portable hard drives around in the market as at press time. The superior transfer speed over the USB 3.0 bus allows one to transport a 25GB High Definition movie in just 4 minutes instead of 14 required by a USB 2.0 drive. All you need to do is plug the PC Adapter card into a notebook, hook up one end of the included adapter cord to the PC card with the other end to the BlackArmor PS110 drive, and you are good to go. Design-wise, the BlackArmor looks menacing with a mere 12.5mm thickness while featuring the Acronis business-grade backup suite, automated full-system backup and SafetyDrill+ software and a bare metal recovery feature to get you started. It plays nice with Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7 platforms, while boasting an industry-leading, 5 year limited warranty. Needless to say, it is also backwards compatible with USB 2.0 specifications, and the $179.99 price tag attached to it looks set to be well worth every penny spent.
