FCC gives nod to Sony Ericsson Vivaz

The Sony Ericsson Vivaz, also known as the Sony Ericsson Kurara U5, has just passed the FCC’s tests and will be known as the Sony Ericsson Vivaz U5a instead. It has been approved to play nice over the UMTS II and V bands (1900MHz and 850MHz), which means those who are subscribing to AT&T and Rogers are able to use the Vivaz U5a on their respective 3G networks. Trivia time – did you know that the Vivaz is Sony Ericsson’s second smartphone which will run on the Symbian S60 5th Edition operating system? Before you nod off with those boring details, here are what most people are looking for – its specifications. Expect to find a 3.2″ touchscreen display at 360 x 640 resolution, HSPA and Wi-Fi connectivity, GPS navigation, a built-in accelerometer, Google Maps, Facebook and Twitter integration, a 3.5mm headset jack, a 720MHz processor, an 8GB memory card and an 8-megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash and HD video recording. No word on pricing though, but you ought to be able to pick this up from the Sony Style shop Stateside.
