LG GW990 with Intel Moorestown

[MWC 2010] We have seen the LG GW990 at CES, thanks to Pankaj Kedia from Intel. Today, LG is officially launching one of the first Atom-powered smartphone, running Intel Moorestown with Linux Moblin 2.1, the next generation Atom processor that was designed to consume 10 times less power, when compared to the first generation Atom.

We have seen the demo, the video player user interface reacts super fast even while multitasking with other apps running. The playback was flawless on the 1024×480 4.8-inch touchscreen display. The version shown at MWC is HDSPA-enabled but the device will support 4G LTE connectivity in the future. The GW990 will be available in the second half of 2010 for an undisclosed price. Check out the photo gallery to see the multitasking in action (!).
