SIGVerse open source simulator

Japan’s National Institute of Informatics came up with an open-source simulator which is capable of performing tests of intelligent robots that co-exist with human beings, where the setup is known as SIGVerse. This human-robot interaction simulator is touted to be the first of its kind in the world, where it involves verbal communication between multiple agents as well as non-verbal communication including eye contact. Users are able to program a virtual robot in C++ and modify the virtual environment to suit a wide range of situations. The software is also tipped to assist in visualizing insect biology and social behaviors.
