Apple mobile P2P payment service for the iPhone and iPad

Apple is currently working on a new mobile P2P payment service that will cater for both the iPhone and iPad, where the patent application is known as “Peer to peer financial transaction devices and methods”. This iPhone app and service will enable iPhone owners to store all credit card, bank/checking account and other essential information on the device itself, making it a snap to make transactions with but a few taps – how does that sound to you? It might just make the iPhone all the more desirable as an object of theft due to the potential data gold mine that lies within. We do wonder whether this is one patent application that will see the light of day or not.
