Google Chrome OS Devices To Cost Less Than $400

When it comes to buying gadgets, aside from the features of it, the most common question would be how much it costs. With that in mind, it looks like the price of adopting a device powered by Google’s Chrome OS won’t be too expensive, as Google CEO, Eric Schmidt, has mentioned during the Atmosphere Cloud Computing Forum that the devices are estimated to cost between $300-$400. The costs will mostly be associated with the hardware as the operating system (OS) itself is free. The expensive part of the software will be developing the web apps, which is something that Google is obviously good at. It will be very interesting to see how the market will be affected by devices powered by Google’s Chrome OS, Apple’s iPad and Windows-powered netbooks. We’re looking forward to some healthy competition. You can check out the video in the full post. It’s about 40 minutes long, so grab a cup of coffee and sit back.
