Aiptek Story Book inColor targets the little ones

Ebook readers seem to be catching on these days, and the iPad’s wildly successful launch could very well have something to do with it. Of course, most children in developing countries are unable to afford such a device, but let us hope that in due time, technology will mature to a point where ebook readers become affordable for anyone and everyone on the planet. Could the Aiptek Story Book inColor be the device that kickstarts things? Perhaps, considering it comes with an 8″ TFT LCD display at 800 x 600 resolution alongside 20 pre-loaded books, 1GB of internal memory and a memory card slot for expansion purposes. You get a quartet of large buttons that make it a snap to navigate, and you can also purchase additional digital tomes online by hooking it up to a PC via USB. Aiptek’s Story Book inColor will retail for $199 each, where individual titles retail anywhere between $3 to $4.
