Android 2.1 Ported To The HTC Touch Diamond2

It used to be that folks would be busy trying to get Linux running on various electronic devices, such as an iPod, but the latest trend is to get Google’s Android OS running on phones that don’t officially support it. We’ve seen Android ported to the iPhone before, and now we’ve got confirmation that Android 2.1 has also been ported to the HTC Touch Diamond2. Sure, the device might be running older hardware, but it does seem to be able to handle Android rather well, though the graphics might seem a tad sluggish. Aside from that, the rest of the functions seem to work pretty well, such as making phone calls, browsing the web, and checking out the Android Market for apps. Do you think you’ll be planning to put Android on any of your older phones any time soon? Check out a video of it in action after the jump.
