Baidu Search Engine Considering Foray Into The Mobile OS Market?
Posted on Jul 20, 10 02:35 AM PDT

Rumor is going around that the Chinese search engine company Baidu is considering entering the mobile OS market and compete with rivals such as Google's Android. Details are still quite sketchy at the moment, but word is that it'll be an open source system. Word is that such a move was considered due to Google's ongoing dispute with the Chinese government over search results censorship, and if the rumor holds true, the project is headed by former Google workers who departed the company after the dispute broke out.
