Samsung Xcover 271 rugged handset to hit Swedish streets

If you stay in a country like Sweden, it might be one of the best countries to live in but the lack of sunlight and warmth throughout the year might just make you more depressed than usual, hence leading to a higher percentage of throwing your phone against the wall out of frustration. This is more the exception instead of the norm though, so don’t be alarmed. Samsung’s got your back with the Xcover 271, a rugged handset that has been certified with IP67 rating which is the first of its kind for a Samsung phone. Basically, it is shock, dust and water resistant, working even after being submerged in a depth of 1 meter for up to half an hour. Additional details on the Xcover 271 include a flashlight, 3G support with video calling, a 2-inch display, GPS, Google Maps support, digital compass, pedometer, an integrated FM radio, a loudspeaker, a generously sized keypad, music playback, 30MB of internal memory, a microSD memory card slot adequate battery life. Out in Sweden later this October, it will retail for around $241 after conversion. Don’t think we would be seeing this hit the FCC anytime soon, bummer! Might be worth packing this into a snowball during a fight for added effect.
