Sony SMP-N100 network media player

Sony’s SMP-N100 network media player has just been introduced to the UK market, where it will also open the gateway for one to access Bravia Internet video, using Wi-Fi connectivity and DLNA support. This will more or less make it in some ways similar to the Apple TV, allowing you to stream content via Wi-Fi throughout your home from the Sony SMP-N100 directly. To put it in a nutshell, you will be able to access YouTube, TV catch up platforms such as the BBC iPlayer and Demand Five, and films. “Content Noise Reduction” has also been thrown into the mix to clean as well as improve the overall quality of streamed video. While the basic functionality is pretty similar, Apple on paper delivers more multimedia content thanks to music inclusion as well as synchronization with one’s iTunes account. Expect to see this puppy hit the UK market next month onwards for around £120.
