EKING S700 e-notepad

Did everyone at the China Shenzhen Guangxuntong Communication Technology office in China miss the memo that the Apple iPad exists and has made quite a substantial splash in the world of tablets? Apparently not, especially when the company markets their EKING S700 as the first e-notepad in the world. Hmmm, nothing like a simple app on the iPad to offer similar capability, but we digress. The S700 will mostly target those who work outside from their regular office environment, where it features dual-mode input technologies of resistance touch control and electromagnetic induction touch control, coupled with integrated 3G connectivity to help you remain hooked to the Internet at all times, never mind if you’re crawling on GPRS/EDGE speeds in a remote area. While the EKING S700 does look like a paper notebook at times, it will feature a 7-inch display and Wi-Fi connectivity as well, with a 3-megapixel automatic focus camera capable of digitizing your collection of name cards in no time at all. Will this hit the US market soon? Let’s keep a keen eye peeled on the FCC’s site. [Press Release]
