Facebook Offers One-time Passwords And Remote Log Out To Make Access On Public Computers Safer

Facebook has introduced some new security features in order to help protect users and their Facebook accounts. The first is the launch of one-time passwords, making it easy to access Facebook on public computers without having to worry about losing your Facebook password to keyloggers and other malicious programs that might berunning. All you have to do is text “otp” to 32665, after you have registered your mobile phone number in your account, and you’ll receive a password that can only be used once and expires in 20 minutes. This feature is rolling out gradually and should be available to everyone in the coming weeks. Aside from that, the ability to sign out of Facebook remotely has also been introduced, so if you forget to log out from Facebook on a friend’s computer, you can check if you’re still logged in and remotely log out. In the event that someone accesses your account without your permission, you can also shut down the unauthorized login before resetting your password. It’s good to see that Facebook is focusing on increasing its security features; after all, losing access to a Facebook account can be troublesome.
