Nemoptic introduces a world’s first by merging a low-power, black-and-white display with a full color OLED, resulting in a dual-mode display just like the Pixel Qi. Basically, it enables the user to rely on the reflective Binem component whenever you are in outdoor situations with bright sunlight killing off everyone else’s display but yours, and switching over to OLED when required. Not only that, the Binem display will also be able to retain an image even when there is no juice supplied to it. Just what are some of the implications? Well, how about having a wallpaper parked on your e-book reader device? Well, there is still no word on whether this will be realized commercially or not, so stay tuned.
