The Seagate FreeAgent DockStar isn’t the cheapest peripheral around, but there’s a reasonfor that. In case you didn’t know, the device houses a 1.2GHz Marvell processor, 128MB of RAM, 256MB of ROM, an Ethernet port and USB connectors. In other words, it’s something that hardware and software hackers out there would love to play with. Someone out there decided that a copy of Debian Linux, a DisplayLink USB-to-VGA adapter and a USB sound adapter would be good friends with the device and used it to create a homegrown emulation console that could handle quite a number of games. You can check out a video of it in action after the jump, and considering that the DockStar can be purchased for around $25 if you shop around, it’s a fairly cheap project that would offer some nice rewards.
