Word Lens is an Augmented Reality Translator for Your iPhone

Word Lens, an app available now for the iPhone for $4.99, is a language translator that combines the best of translation and augmented reality. Using a visual search style engine, all you have to do is point your camera to the text, sign, or phrase that you need translated, and World Lens will do translation in real-time, overlaying the translated phrase for you on your phone’s screen as if you’re seeing the translated phrase in the real world–hence the augmented reality aspect. So far, though, the app only does English and Spanish translations, but more languages are expected to be added soon. The device uses OCR technology to recognize the words and process it for translation, and the best part is that you don’t even need an Internet connection for all this to work! Hit the break for a video demo of World Lens in action.
