MSI has made their graphics cards a little more attractive to graphics professionals. MSI has announced that it will be bundling the Super LoiLoScope GPU-accelerated video editing software with all NVIDIA GeForce series graphics cards (albeit a 30-day trial version). If you’re wondering, the Super LoiLoScope is the world’s first video editing software which is directly decoded by the GPU, creating movie files up to 10 times faster than a CPU-powered encoder.

On Thursday, T-Mobile USA announced that they will enable free international calls to and from Haiti through January 31, 2010. This is part of the carrier's effort to provide relief and help to the victims of the earthquake in Haiti. Find more details in the press release.
Additionally, for T-Mobile customers interested in donating $10 to the Red Cross, simply text "HAITI" to "90999". The donation will be charged to the T-Mobile phone bill, 100% goes to the Red Cross, there is no fee and the texts will not be charged. By texting "YELE" to 501501, the carrier's customers can support the Haitian-born musician Wyclef Jean's Yele Haiti fund.

Intel has sent out a revised email to members of the Intel Retail Edge Program, who previously received an email offering a MacBook Pro powered by an Intel Core i5 processor, changing the prize laptop offered from a Intel Core i5 MacBook Pro, to a HP ENVY laptop (which is obviously still powered by the Core i5 processor). While this is disappointing, it doesn’t mean that we won’t be offered a Core i5-powered MacBook Pro from Apple, just that Intel isn’t offering one for free at the moment, that’s all, so you can keep your fingers crossed. The statement from Intel reads:
"In our previous communications about the January prize draw, we got the processor right, but not the computer," the new e-mail states. "When you pass this month's trainings, you'll be automatically eligible for 2 chances to win 1 of 2 HP ENVY laptops with the accelerated response of an Intel Core i5 processor."
"We apologize for any confusion," it continues. "Visit the Intel Retail Edge Program website for more great tools, sales tips, technology information, and incredible prizes!"

One of the highlights of CES 2010 is certainly going to be HP’s Windows 7 Slate. Steve Ballmer was on hand to unveil the device, and stated “They're more powerful than a phone and almost as powerful as a PC. Perfect for reading, surfing the web and taking entertainment on the go," during his CES 2010 opening keynote. The device will be available this year, and we’re certainly looking forward to checking it out in further detail. Ballmer demoed the device running the PC Kindle app, its multitouch capabilities, as well as a little of its gaming capabilities. It’ll certainly be interesting to see how these tablets will change the game in 2010, and how much Apple’s upcoming iSlate will affect them. Check out a video of the HP Slate in action.

Update: The lucky winner is Ken Yeung! Congratulations Ken.
Last week in San Francisco, we've announced the Uber10: the greatest gift suggestions. Two attendees came home with awesome gifts: a LG BD390 Blu-ray Disc Player with VUDU streaming (courtesy of Dolby), and a Viliv X70 mobile internet device (courtesy of Intel).
For those who were not at the event, there is one HP Envy Beat laptop to give away (courtesy of Intel). This is pretty much the best laptop that HP has to offer and it is powered by Intel's Core i7. Here is what to do:

The holiday shopping season is here and we've compiled an Uber10 list. A vote is open on the uber10 page to select an 11th gadget so help us choose!
The Uber10 Awards were unveiled at a cool Ubergizmo event in San Francisco last week (sponsored by Dolby and Intel, check the party photos). We hope that these suggestions will give you save time. On the financial side, there are a few ways to save: you can find the best deal and order online, or wait for Black Friday and hope that your favorite gadget goes on sale, which is unlikely if it's really cool, but who knows?
Now would be a good time to become a fan on Facebook. Happy shopping!

Yes, it's that time of the year again (we can't believe it!). Soon, you will run around wondering what to get for your loved ones -probably at the last minute. We can help by suggesting the 10 greatest gifts (under $500) for this holiday season. They are called the “Uber10&rdquo. Please help us select an 11th gift by voting on an extended list (coming any day now).
The Uber10 will be unveiled in a private event in San Francisco on November 12, thanks to our Platinum Sponsor Dolby and Gold Sponsor Intel. Dolby will build a surround sound setup at the event venue to show us what the Dolby Surround Sound Experience is all about. You may be able to experience it for yourself, if the Dolby Truck stops by your town. Check out the cool Dolby videos on Youtube.
Intel will talk about the new Intel Sponsors of Tomorrow campaign and their hilarious "rock star" videos: "Intel Star" TV ad and Intel's "Big Ideas" TV ad
At the private event in San Francisco, both sponsors will demonstrate the coolest gadgets with their latest embedded technology.
Check out the 2007 and 2008 Uber10 lists, This 2009 edition will be published at ubergizmo.com/uber10
We have a few extra tickets for the private event, go to this discussion page on our Facebook Fan page to know how you can get one.
Editor's note: this seems obvious, but we would like to make it clear that companies with products nominated to the Uber10 cannot be accepted as sponsors of the Uber10 event.
