Google Maps support subway lines now

Looks like Google Maps is growing from strength to strength, with the latest release showing off New York's subway lines under part of the transit layer. The colored lines are interactive, where clicking on a station name will see a bubble pop up alongside the name of the line that service the station, while fading out other lines on the display so that you won't end up being more confused. Other big cities covered in this manner by Google Maps include Paris and Tokyo. Mobile users will also be pleased to know that the new subway lines of NYC is also available on Google Maps Mobile.

Ants get assistance from GPS

Conservationists in Northumberland have drawn upon the power of GPS to pinpoint 69 rare ants' nests prior to work to fell thousands of trees. These nests were made of conifer needles, and the removal of 10,000 tonnes of conifer planted in the previous century is about to commence. The nests' GPS co-ordinates will be recorded so that loggers won't damage them during the felling process, while a bunch of conifers will be left in place so that the ants have sufficient building materials to continue remaining alive.

Thanko has unveiled their latest GPS Watch known as the GPSTRVBK, which is nigh unpronounceable if you ask us. This is but a standard timepiece that will feature an integrated GPS module which in turn logs your every single movement once turned on, letting you upload your logs onto a computer later for use with Google Maps and other compatible software. Alternatively, you could get this for a clueless spouse to make sure he/she really gets to the office as relayed instead of shacking up at a lover's place.

GG MSN Direct come 2012

2012 might be the year ancient Mayans in a fictional world predicted that the earth as we know it, would end, but they were apparently miles off track as the only thing which would end would be the MSN Direct service. Yes, Microsoft will be pulling the plug onthe MSN Direct service on January 1st, 2012. At least there is more than enough time for subscribers to switch to other service providers, where the process is as painless as shutting down the service anytime before the ill fated date while reinvesting a refund of your unused service portion elsewhere. Cheetah C50 GPS speed camera detector

Don't balk at the Cheetah C50 GPS speed camera detector's $100 price tag as it could potentially save you much more than that in the long run if you're a speed demon who loves zooming down the freeway whenever cops are not around to issue you a ticket. In fact, it is also smart enough to identify various types of cameras including speed, red light, speed-on-green, and can inform you on whether the camera is on a freeway, a highway, an exit ramp, a frontage road, a nearby city street, in a tunnel, after the end of a tunnel, on an overpass, in a school zone, in a construction zone or even near a bridge ahead. Apart from that, the Cheetah C50's directional intelligence ensures you won't be falsely alerted of a camera that is facing the other direction while you speed in your new Skyline GT-R.

What you see here isn't going to perform a lobotomy on your automatically the moment you wear it, but it is instead a real time navigation helmet that will inform you of where to turn whenever you reach a junction during your walks. It does so by pulling on your ears gently - sounds like a pretty good idea to help blind folks walk through a city without any assistance from other people as long as their GPS navigation service is up to par.
