"Metal Gear Acid" game on Sony's PSP portable game console
Nintendo is probably really worried at the idea that the Sony PSP is coming out in Japan in Q1 2005. This morning info confirms the danger. "Metal Gear Acid", the portable sequel of the mega-hit "Metal Gear" Series looks just fabulous. The PSP is the first attempt from Sony to conquer the Portable Gaming market currently dominated by Nintendo. Sony has already taken the lead in the Console market from both Nintendo and Sega. The console will have a beautiful 16:9 480x272 screen. Besides gaming, it might also be an awesome portable movie player using Blue-Ray, Sony's next-gen HD DVD format. It's also wireless-ready with integrated wifi .

Gotta re-buy DVDs in Sony format to be able to play them on this little screen? Hmmmm...a portable DVD player would be a much cheaper alternative for watching movies on the go. Plus you could see the larger screen more easily than the PSP's tiny screen. For 2 hours at a time!
As a portable gaming machine, it'll be interesting to compare this to the next Nintendo portable.
