A few days after intel, Philips announces that it will stop making LCOS (Liquid Crystal On Silicon) displays starting on Nov 19.

Philips did not have the financial or technological might to sustain the intense pressure of competition.

The brand is going to focus on the DLP technology (Digital Light Processor) from Texas Instrument.
