Mac OS X 10.3.7 has slow email?

Users of the “macbidouille” forum (French) have been complaining that the recent build of Mac OS X 10.3.7 is very slow to launch the Mail and iChat applications.

Apparently the issue is in the network configuration.

To fix this, a user recommends entering the address of the DNS server of your Internet Service Provider (ISP) in your network configuration. The user usually don’t have to fill out this field.
