There is no doubt that the Sony PSP will put some pressure on the Nintendo DS. The PSP has superior graphics capabilities and processing power. It is also able to play MP3 audio and Mpeg4 video, two features badly missing for a portable device.

Nintendo plan to correct this by selling an external adaptor that will work on the DS, but also on the Advance SP. The extension will enable MP3 and Mpeg4 replay on the device. It will cost $47.

The DS+adapter combo would bring the price up to $200, the expected price of a Sony PSP… Some believe that it will put pressure on Sony, but I believe that this just shows that the PSP has a better design.
