The idea of a Universal Remote Control is not new, but we still all have several remote controls all in our living room, so it’s clearly not a solved problem.Philips tries to address the issue with the ProntoPro (TSU7000). It’s a remote control that can be taught to emulate other remote controls. One it has assimilated all the commands from other (lower-tech and doom to extinction) remotes, it should be the only one that you will ever need.There are two issues. First, it has always been tedious to program this kind of gadget. Second, at a price of almost $1000, I’d rather save that money and get a new Flat Panel Display… and another remote control…Read… (via TRFJ)
