Home > Audio > Hard drives integrated everywhere…soon

With hard drives getting smaller, it seems that in the next couple of year we will see more hard-drive based devices popping out.

After Digital Audio Players (DAP) and Portable Multimedia Players (PMP) cellphones are the obvious next target. Some day, cellphones might replace both DAP and PMP as they seem to be the ultimate convergence device.

That might surprise some, but *voice* is actually the killer app for cellphones. Yeah, even though voice getting cheaper (sorry carriers), it’s the primary reason why people will carry cellphones in the short term. Hitachi is the current leader in the micro drive space.
