This is an important step for Vonage, and for sure it’s far from over. Their aggressive marketing campain seems to pay. Network devices manufacturers are signing deals and their service is starting to be sold in retail, an excellent sign that the technology is becoming usable by most people.

There is still work that needs to be done to make the installation easy, but it’s getting there.

To me, 2004 has been a corner year. I had the sense that something was changing. May be I’m just saying that because I started to use VOIP myself last year (thus halving my telephone bill almost instantly). If you think about subscribing to a VOIP service, check-out lingo, they offer unlimited calls in the US, but also in Western Europe.
