The company Omron has announced the OKAO Face Recognition Sensor that will be an additional security feature for cellphones.
I guess that it uses several points on the faces that should be (fairly) unique to each individual, like the space between the eyes, the mouth and the nose.
It seems to be a software solution that uses the integrated digital camera.
