The Sony EBR-1000EP is an e-book that is sold only in Japan. When we asked a sony representative why this device was not sold outside of Japan, we were told that Japan was the only country where publishers were interested by this format. It’s too bad because the EBR-1000EP is a very cool device.
At first glance, it just looks like another device with an LCD screen. In fact, the display is using E-ink, a monochromatic display technology that has two key quality: it almost looks like paper and it is ultra-low power. Reading on it causes much less eye strain compared to a regular LCD screen.
This ebook weighs only 300g and has 10MB of storage, expandable via a Memory Stick port.
