The SmartMP4 is an USB external hard drive enclosure that will accept standard IDE drives. The coolness comes from its capability to play multimedia files (MPEG-4, Mp3, WMA, JPEG, MPEG1, MPEG2) autonomously (no need to connect it to a PC). The user can copy files to the disk from a computer and connect the SmartMP4 directly to a TV or a Hifi system. It comes with a remote control too. If you don’t mind the size, the SmartMP4 is basically a Portable Media Player without a screen.
