Home > Apple > A Nokia iTunes Phone soon?

“We’re always in discussion with Apple” (Camilla Grägg – Nokia spokesperson). This might get fans excited, but talk is cheap and this does not mean that the two companies will agree on anything, especially when it is not clear that Nokia or Apple could really make much more money out of it. Apple for one does not want to see any real capable devices play music (At least not one that could be a danger to the iPod). Secondly, Nokia has jumped on board with Microsoft to use their Digital Rights Management technology (codename Janus). Anyways, this is not about technology – A phone like the Nokia N91 could work with either DRM scheme. (related: Motorola ROKR).
