eINK engineers have built a full-color electronic paper display that’s ready for mass production (I’ve heard that before). This e-paper is said to looks like a printed page from any angle, maintaining the same contrast ratio in all lighting conditions save direct sunlight, It uses 100 times less energy that standard LCDs, reducing its weight considerably and extending battery life by miles. It is scheduled for mass production at the end of next year.
