JVC’s Everio G series received a boost with the new GZ-MG70. It houses a 30GB HDD that is capable of holding up to 7 hours of DVD quality MPEG-2 video, or the equivalent of 37 hours of Internet quality (hear: crappy) video. The CCD image sensor has been upgraded to 2.12 megapixels for still shots, with image-stabilized video scaled back to 1.2 megapixels. The MG70’s hard disk utilizes anti-shock technology and will be on sale next month onwards for $1,100.
