Sanyo’s new ENELOOP batteries are “ready to use” as they don’t have the self-discharge problem that traditional rechargeable batteries have. A Dry Cell type battery has a shorter life than Sanyo’s ENELOOP, with tests indicating the ENELOOP’s capability of taking 4.4 times more photos than standard Dry Cells. They are guaranteed for more than 1000 recharge cycles before losing the initial capacity.
