Korean company MCNex has created the smallest VGA camera sensor in the world (5.5 x 2.9mm). It will no doubt show up in cell phones and PDAs. VGA resolution (640×480) might sound low-tech, but rest assured that MCNex is also working on 3, 7 and 8 Megapixel camera modules. The 3 Megapixel one is said to have an optical zoom, which is impressive for such small modules.
