Alereon’s new Ultra Wide Band chipset can transfer 1GB worth of data under 30 seconds wirelessly as demonstrated at the 2nd International ComBcon (Communication and Broadcasting Convergence Exhibition & Conference). That means you can achieve data transfer speeds of up to 480Mbps on the existing USB 2.0 standard. This chip’s size makes it suitable to be used in mobile devices. CES 2006 will see the presentation of Alereon’s new chip. Via AVing
