Taiwan-based Quanta Computers will be the original design manufacturer for the $100 laptop project. Quanta targets to produce 5-15 million units in time for its Q4 launch in 2006. China, India, Brazil, Argentina, Egypt, Nigeria, and Thailand will be the main beneficiaries of Quanta’s contribution, receiving up to a million laptops each.
