Rumors are floating that Apple will eliminate Firewire from its products eventually. This is partly fueled by USB-only compatibility in the iPod Nano, while next-gen iBooks are rumored to have Firewire 800 connectivity only. The Firewire webpage on the Apple site has disappeared as well. A drastic move like removing Firewire completely from Apple’s inventory could alienate a large customer base… Via Gadget Review
