The unified display interface (UDI) is meant to be the next-generation digital display interface standard for PCs and will be compatible with Consumer Electronics devices if the UDI specification can be worked out by leading PC and consumer electronics companies of today. The UDI standard is meant to oust the graying VGA analog standard as well as be fully compatible with High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) devices. Expect to see the completed specification in the second quarter of 2006. Via eHomeUpgrade
