Microsoft takes on iPod

Buisness Week reports that Microsoft has decided to tread where many have failed – usurp the throne held by the iPod. Microsoft plans to develop a product that can play music and video, and it will carry the Xbox name. Expanding on the Xbox brand is a logical move, and it will also encroach on Sony’s PSP territory as well in terms of an all-round portable entertainment machine. Via Fraggerock

Publisher’s take: Microsoft could use one deadly move: produce a PSP-like machine with an integrated hard drive.
