WSJ reported that Amazon could be rolling up its sleeves to launch a music service that encroaches on iTunes and Napster territories. Amazon is currently holding talks with a quartet of global music companies in an attempt to realize its ambition. Rumor has it that there will be an exclusive tie up with branded music players in this effort that hopes to topple Apple’s hegemony in the digital music and portable audio player markets. This service could be launched as early as this summer should everything proceed as planned. Via Pocket Lint
