Mitsubishi is better known for its cars, but it has achieved the honor of being the first rear-projection TV that is xvYCC-compliant. Using a trio of lasers as a light source, this new TV costs less than an LCD or plasma TV albeit with a slight sacrifice in quality. A 50” retro-projection TV offers performance that’s up to par with a similar plasma or display though. Via Akihabara News
