The rumor is confirmed – Dell has bought over Alienware Corp, the critically-acclaimed high-end PC manufacturer. Terms of the deal are unavailable at the moment, but we know that Alienware will operate as a wholly-owned subsidiary and retain its own product development, marketing, sales, and other operations. Since both companies have a distribution model that is rather similar, it looks like this marriage is off to an auspicious start. Dell can finally add growing AMD-based PC sales to its bottomline via Alienware.
