DRM shortens battery life by 25%

Tests have shown that DRM (Digital Rights Media)-wrapped digital media requires more CPU power to playback due to the fact that files need to be decrypted on the fly. This translates to 25% less battery life during playback in portable music players. This adds more weight to the claim that DRM is something the entire industry could do without.
