Toshiba will release its HD-XA1 HD-DVD player to hordes of early adopters in Japan this April. The first HD-DVD player to go on sale will retail for a wallet-thumping $795. Expect the usual features such as 720p/1080i support and 30GB dual-layer HD-DVD compatibility.
