Intel showcases Universal Display Interface

Its about time the archaic analogue D-SUB connector will be replaced by Universal Display Interface (UDI) as revealed at the Intel Developer Forum recently. An evolution of HDMI, UDI supports HDCP to prevent the destructive prowess of piracy when it comes to digital video. Current UDI specifications stand at version 0.8 with version 1.0 due in Q2 this year. Only time will tell how effective UDI is in displacing the D-SUB port as the industry standard.
